The Memory Extension Kit (MEK) is a multi-purpose upgrade package for the QuicktionaryII and Reading Pen. The MEK increases the Pen’s memory capacity, enabling you to: - Add various WizCom applications to your existing product.
- Add dictionaries to your product.
The MEK package includes a 8MB flash card, USB cable and CD-ROM containing all the applications and dictionaries necessary to enhance your existing product.
QuicktionaryII and ReadingPen users will be able to add additional dictionary databases to their product and/or upgrade the Pen with QuickLink applications (Notes, Address Book, Internet Links, Tables, Scan to PC) in order to scan, store and send data to the PC.
QuickLink users can add the QuicktionaryII translation capability and dictionaries to their Pen. Extra memory can also be used to increase data storage capacity, enabling users to scan and store approximately 3,000 pages of text rather than just 1,000.
The three basic steps for installing the MEK are:
- Installing the new memory card.
- Upgrading Pen - adding QuicktionaryII or QuickLink functionalities.
- Adding components (e.g., dictionaries or add-on applications).
Please note that with the 8MB MEK will enable you to carry two or three one-directional dictionary databases (one bi-directional dictionary) on your Pen at once. You may, however, acquire as many keys as you like and store them on your computer, so you can easily change the languages on your Pen at any time. If you have already purchased a MEK, and have already upgraded your Pen, you may access here to acquire the dictionaries.
