This toolbox is for Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs) and teachers who are conducting interventions and assessments.

For advice and simple screeners to help identify and record literacy learning gaps, use the tools in the section: Identifying the Reading Gap.

For Individual Education Plan pro formas, and advice on how to implement a structured ScanningPen intervention, look at the resources in Assess, Plan, Do, Review. All the support you need to ensure the intervention runs well and record evidence of progress is here.

Transition of information is a critical to ensure that all the good work and knowledge we have gained, continues to support the student. In the section, Transition Support, there is a easy to complete, student-centred four page pro-forma. Use it to quickly identify strategies that need to be shared including how ScanningPens have been used. For our learners in transition, making sure that the right equipment will be provided in the next setting or with the next teacher is crucial. You will also find general advice, ideas and tips on transition support.
