Our training program is a bite sized CPD series that allows the user to create their own pathways through a variety of different modules.
Choose from units in both ReaderPen TM and ExamReader™ Pathways
Examples of modules include:
- The Literacy Toolkit: Improve your knowledge of literacy supports that create equity of access for all learners.
- EAL/SEN identification: How can ReaderPen™ support the development of BICS and CALP?
- Exams Officers and SENCo’s ExamReader™ Workshop: Key info for exams and Normal Way of Working.
- Create inclusion evidence for Action Plans, Deep Dive, SIP, SEND and Governor Reports.

How is this course structured?
8 Weeks
Weeks 1 to 4
Join the webinar sessions that you have chosen and watch the content either live or on demand.
After each webinar complete the Q&A knowledge assessment form.
Weeks 1 to 5
Set aside 15 minutes per session to record your thoughts in a CPD journal. This is an informal record of the training you have undertaken and the action points arising.
This journal will inform and help you to plan your outcome document.
Week 1 to 8
Join a minimum of three live 30-minute sessions to feedback your thoughts, ask questions, gain support, and engage with your learning community.
Weeks 3 to 6
Decide on the evidence document or project outcome you need examples.
- Evidence of impact for COVID Catch up or Pupil Premium Spending
- Inclusion evidence for Action Plans or Literacy Deep Dive impact docs
- School or Department Improvement Plan (Statements linked to subject based literacy and inclusion support.)
- SEND and Governor Reports.
- Video project to encourage student knowledge and uptake of use
Week 6 to 8 produce your evidence
Week 8 - Final Deadline to submit your evidence and gain CPD accreditation

ReaderPen™ is an assistive technology strategy that can provide support for a wide range of learning needs.
These include EAL, Speech and Language Difficulties, ASD where human support is not suitable, SpLD Dyslexia and literacy difficulties.
The ExamReader™ CPD pathway is designed for Secondary Schools, Colleges, and Further Education Providers.
You can choose modules from either the ReaderPen™ or the ExamReader™ pathway.

The ReaderPen™ is a totally portable tutor in your pocket. It’s a lifesaver for students with dyslexia and other reading challenges
Course Components: What is your commitment?
Choose a minimum of three modules from the webinar training schedule - webinars are a maximum of 50 minutes in length
Engage with three live support sessions (Tuesday Breakfast Session or Thursday Suppertime Session). This will support your creation of a short evidence-based learning and implementation journal.
Develop a document that evidences your ‘alignment’ for OFSTED inspection or SEND improvement. Examples might include:
- Completion of Premium or COVID Catch Up Spending Documentation
- Schools SEND offer for SpLD and Literacy Support
- Complete a Case Study or research program that contributes to Teachers CPD Standards with a focus on improving and evaluating student outcomes.
